SKIP
SKIP (Strategies with Kids/Information for Parents) is the Government's positive parenting campaign and is designed to support parents with effective, non-physical discipline and raising children in a loving and positive way. It has three strands:
- developing, producing and distributing national resources
- strengthening existing parent support and education
- funding innovative local initiatives.
SKIP is developing pamphlets on various aspects of child development and behaviour. For information about what is currently available visit www.familyservices.govt.nz/skip or email This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. .
The SKIP team recently announced the first successful applications to the Local Initiatives Fund. This fund is designed to nurture new ideas, innovation and collaboration responsive to the needs of parents and care-givers in their communities. A wide range of organisations has been granted funds to deliver projects with potential to encourage positive non-violent discipline of children.
