Making a Submission

The key points to make in your submission:

  • You support full repeal.
  • You do not support amendment to define reasonable or unreasonable force, or any other legislation that implies that physical punishment is acceptable.
  • That law reform must be accompanied by:

(a) ongoing public messages that smacking and hitting children harms them;
(b) ongoing parent education on alternatives.

  • Support your points with evidence from your own experience or from research.
